Interesting, but yea very specific, will be interesting to see if it does improve AI a lot.

Interesting development. I can imagine future PCs having even more processors, say one old fashioned CPU , GPU of course, one of these photonic units, and eventually even a quantum CPU. Can only imagine what cryptographic keys will have to look like at that point.
