Ultimate Desktop Case ? What's your Dream case?

I have a CoolerMaster COSMOS II that I am thinking of swapping to use as my server case. My current server case is a full tower Thermaltake and it's older... from an LGA775 build.

My problem is I don't see any desktop cases I like. I don't need the size of the Cosmos II for my desktop any longer so any ATX case is fine.

Suggestions ?

Personally my favorite case with no budget constrains, would be the corsair 800d or the silverstone fortress. Both these are massive cases, but I would definitely prefer an xl atx for a dream pc. If youre set on mid towers, then It doesnt get much better than the fractal r4, or some of the expensive lian li stuff.

FT02 for air, Cosmos 2 for liquid.

Both useless for my middle range config, which I don't even use, since I'm always around. :(

Confused. If you're always around, why not use it? Do you mean you're never around?

on topic: I don't have a dream case. I'd like to try an aluminium chassis some day

Around means present. Always present, i.e. always there. Not always somewhere else :)

Yeah, I am now realizing I am translating it directly from Italian, where it means the opposite. :(

I've used many cases over the years. My personal favorite that I've used in the TJ07. My dream case would probably be a Caselabs or a Soldam XR1/XR2

Always around as in never at home.

We might call that "out and about".

As for cases, I just got the Corsair 550D, I'm in love with it. http://www.corsair.com/obsidian-series-550d-mid-tower-quiet-case.html

I like the flexibility - you can pack it with fans, or just cover everything up, or mix & match to get the right balance of noise / cooling. The grommeted holes for wires, rubber drive trays, overhead space for an oversized water cooling radiator, etc. are all good things too. It ain't cheap but other than I'd like for it to have come with a 5.25 -> 3.5 adapter or two, I haven't figured out anything I'd change.

FT02 but an improved version with the little niggles resolved, better SSD support etc.

The FT03 and FT04(yuck) dont even compare to this case unfortunately.

Not exactly a desktop anymore, since I added the pedestal, but...
I love my Case Labs SM8. All aluminum, fully modular, excellent build quality and outstanding customer service from the folks at CL.

For comparison, I also have a Switch 810. I hate to even work on it anymore, the SM8 has spoiled me.

I like the concept of the Corsair C70 in OD Green, it's just not the right case... no way to get positive pressure in that case. If they would take the 550D and prep it like the C70... that would be sweet!

Definitely the Corsair 800. I have this case. It was pricey but definitely worth it. I do not see having to purchase another case for the next 10 years.
