Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forums and haven't been real up to date with my hardware know how. (The last time I heard, PIII 500 were really really good.) Anyway, nowadays, there are ATA100, 7200RPM Hard drives , RAM (SDRAM, RDRAM, DDRAM, 256, 512, 1GHz etc) and I don't know a hoot about video cards ( ok, I think the All in One Radeon is the bomb!).

I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice on how I could best spend around $1500 for a complete computer setup (everything, 19"monitor, case, scanner, dvd drive, cdrw, printer, ram, mb, cpu, etc) or enlighten me as to how much would get me the best bang for my buck.

If not, perhaps a good website where I could do more research on what is good these days.

Thanks everyone for your help!

I think SharkyExtreme does some comparisons... on:

Low-End Budget Systems
Mid-end systems
high-end systems

All featuring the idea of the "MOST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK"

They also have a feature on the latest prices for all the chips out there... you can also check pricewatch.com to see the best buys out there

Check it out

Good luck ;)
