actually, comdex will be quite boring, coz most of the stuff you see is online or will be online.

its will be a good place to test some HW stuff though, like speakers, monitors, and SOME game peripharals like Sticks, Wheels, gamepads....
 
the pron part is usually held next door to accommodate most single tech geeks, or married geeks who left their wives at home...
 
I wish. I had to use the last of my vacation days for upcoming laser eye surgery. I had a great time last year.

Have fun, wear comfortable shoes, get lot's of free gear, poke around the "private" rooms upstairs at the convention center and say "I'm with Anand of Anandtech."
 
comdex used to be good but the internet has ruined it. Back in the early 90s my dad used to tell me everyone would be there, since it was to show your products, but now the products are all online anyways. An average booth alone costs like $140k not to mention all the other costs like, putting your employees in rooms and bringing product and giveaways and stuff. Thats why a lot of companies aren't there anymore. I went in 1998 when i was 16 (dad got me and my friend passes that said we were 23 and engineers hehe). It was pretty fun. The adult part was taken out 4-5 years ago though, its in a seperate convention at night called adultdex now. I went to CES last year and it was so wierd, like lots of manufacturers didnt show up, and the adult pavilion had a line that was at least 800 feet long. Like at least 400-500 guys in line to see the porn stars. Too bad i was 18 and couldn't get in since i wasnt really 21 again
