Hey guys,

Everyone who regularly sets up systems or overclocks should check out ultimate boot CD.

It's got a whole bunch of tools that you could use, like stability tests and virus scanners. All onto 1 CD.

project main page: http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

And if anyone's ever used it before... I have a question. Why does the tool freeze unless I do a fresh restart? I can't seem to start any diagnostics without doing a clean, fresh reboot. It freezes after the ISOLinux boot line.

Hope that makes everything easier for you guys!

SuperWindows is better (it has the UBCD built in). Too bad the thing requires DVD's.

Bozo, what is Hirens? Thanks.

Are you supposed to be able to download an ISO of Hiren's boot CD from his site? Cuz I can't find the DL link anywhere.

...but is it legal?

it's almost hard to find a new build without a DVD-ROM drive? 5 years ago, CD-RW drives were considered luxurious. 3 years ago, DVD-RW drives were considered luxerious. Give me an optical drive that's considered luxurious to our day?

All in all, it's a blessing for us to see nice tools like these.

Like an old shoe - this is great but antique information, but it belongs in another forum. It is somewhat OS and somewhat software, but definitely not hardware. :)

Hi, The guy that set Ultimate Boot up set it up that way. Mine always reboots anytime I exit from any function.

Yeah, sorry guys i've been getting little sleep in the past 2 weeks >.>'. Mod please move to software/OS. Are there any other all in 1 cds out there? I saw dexter's superboot cd or something, but I have no idea what it is.

BTW... on a scale of 1-10, 1 being least illegal and 10 being most, how illegal do you think Hiren's is? =P.

Most of the others are offshoots of Hiren's.

It's a decent toolset but there are lots of others. A live Linux CD/DVD is a good idea to have handy as well.

I roll my own with BartPE. The plug-in architecture makes it easy to add stuff that you want, and a huge variety of stuff is supported.
