I have just got an ATA RAID card, and i have 2x 120gb WD 7200rpm drives

The chip of the raid card has the following written on it:

ARALION

ARALION INC
ARS106S2
NZD155 0225

The raid card detects them, and i can set up RAID ok (or so the raid bios says), but as soon as the motherboard gets to detecting ANY boot devices, - Ultima Data Area is Crashed - comes up flashing in the top corner :(

I have tried another card of the same brand, and it's just doing the same :(

Any ideas what it could be? Am i doing anything wrong with setting it up? I have gone into it's BIOS and created the raod 1 array, then rebooted, but it's not working :( I know the drives are working fine as they were running as individual drives in the same computer before i bought the card.

Thanks in advance

I would try to run IBM's harddisk fitness test on both of the drives just to be sure. If you still suffer from problems, then uninstall the drives and go through the EXACT procedures outlined in the manufacturer's information that came with the RAID card. If the problem continues, try using an ATA RAID card from another manufacturer. Perhaps it dislikes your motherboard/chipset. Also, try moving the ATA RAID card to another PCI slot.
