Ukraine was about to cave to Trump’s demands. Then the public found out about the whistleblower.

So 2 days and luck intervenes because we were saved by the whistleblower. Zalinsky was being forced to give an interview implicating Barisma and the Biden's
  • The New York Times reported that Zelensky was set to announce the investigations into Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company that had Hunter Biden on its board, and the 2016 election in a September 13 interview with CNN’s Fareed Zarakia.
  • But days before, on September 9, an explosive whistleblower complaint was turned over to Congress by the Director of National Intelligence alleging that Trump was improperly leveraging military aid for the probes.
  • And on September 11, the US lifted the hold it had previously placed on the military aid package to Ukraine.

When this is over the next President (Democrat) needs to grant a Presidential Medal of Freedom to them.

Uh, I read this as being bad for the whistleblower and possibly even casting additional suspicion.

huh? The whistleblower has already been proven right so there's nothing that can really cast 'suspicion' because... again... he was factually correct.

Unless his thought was more surrounding the timeframe (whistleblower release T-4D from capitulation), but that's still a little silly considering what was likely a rapid timeline in this context. 25JUL -> 09SEP is about 45 days, which sounds like a pretty good amount of time to a) corroborate stuff with the sources cited by the whistleblower and b) confirm that this indeed was A Thing that was happening rather than something that was going to blow over. For the latter, that doesn't mean it shouldn't have been addressed and that it wasn't impeachable, more that it might have been one of the undoubtedly dozens of things that were Really Super Illegal (tm) that we'll find out about in the coming years.

My thought though is that if it turns out the whistleblower is basically Lex Luthor who has been plotting his entire life to take down Trump why does it matter? Say he's the most biased person on the entire planet against Trump - who cares? What he said was confirmed to be true! His motivations no longer matter.

You're absolutely right, it doesn't one iota. I just wasn't sure if @CZroe was considering this to be something where bias could be at play? or whatever? Again, not that it has anything to do with anything here.

Until he responds I'm not sure it's worth speculating or conjuring up phantasms of possibilities.

Maybe the whistleblower mind melded with Trump and made him do bad things as part of the setup.

So if Trump was merely doing the right thing and Zelensky felt no pressure, why hasn't he announced investigations into Burisma and 2012 election interference yet? Kind of blows holes in the Republican narrative, don't it?

How so? The article only mentions that the whistleblower's allegations have since been corroborated from several sources.

Was it? I want Trump gone too so I've been eagerly awaiting news that proves Ukraine even knew Trump was withholding the aid during that call. It's the most crucial detail of the complaint we need to see corroborated.

I don't see how
Convenient timing for Ukraine invites accusations of Ukrainian influence. People are already digging up two-year old statements from his attorney ("the coup has started") so of course they are going to go there.

This has already been reported on - Sondland himself testified that he told Ukrainian officials that aid was contingent on investigations.

Pence's aide Jennifer Williams testified that the call was unusual and political.

How ironic is it that when USA and Ukraine president talk, ours is the more corrupt one now?

The most disturbing thing in all of this is that Trump might be right about how he can sell any lie to the public. If a lie won't sell, just tell a bigger one. If you didn't get busted for the last crime, do another one. Shee-it. He can say he'll break the law, then do it, give up the evidence that he did & walk away. Because fuck you, Libtards. We'll be in extremely deep shit if he wins a second term.

Oops, looks like Ukraine already finished their audit of Burisma cases...looks like Hunter Biden did nothing wrong!

Interestingly, though, the prosecutor general in charge of the audit was fired in March.

Not surprised. Looks like farce saved by 2 days.

Any of you Hunter accusers have anything to say?
