Ukraine Wants Its Own "2nd Amendment"

The "protester" "government" won't allow it. It would infringe on their freedom to throw Molotov cocktails if the targets could shoot back.

i am thankful for the 2nd amendment and the whole bill of rights, but it never really protected liberty because the State's guns have more power than a piece of paper. no one will have much liberty unless they live in a confederation and even then many people like myself would be enslaved.

As of today Ukrainian Gun Owners Association will start to work on the preparation of amendments to the Constitution, which will provide an unconditional right for Ukrainian citizens to bear arms.

Sadly, our right to bear arms here in the US has an awful lot of conditions attached to it, and there are those who would see that right taken away piece by piece. "Shall not be infringed" doesn't mean what it used to, apparently.

Yes, clearly more weapons is what's lacking in Ukraine. If only everyone was armed in the last month, I'm sure it wouldn't have escalated more.

what do the citizens in that part of the world think of berrie and the usa progressives?

if it comes to pass that their new constitution contains something similar to our 2nd amendment, think i'll dontate a couple of weapons to em 😎

The Second refers to the formation of regulated militia using the right to bear arms as justification. The reason for this is that the right to bear arms doesn't require government approval (i.e., it's part of the natural right to defend oneself) but the need to form militias to serve the country does.

Hey, you can have your musket dude! That's all you need.

When you have police shooting at you with sniper rifles and AKs I can understand their desire to be able to defend temselves.

Yes, heaven forbid the population should be able to throw off the shackles of their loving government. Government never does anything bad, they are always the good guys. 🙄

The flip side of that coin is that with a few exceptions, the bulk of the riot police was unarmed, and stood there for 3 months getting shot at and burned with Molotov cocktails. If it was a country had an armed population, all the cops would be armed too, and there would be a lot more people dead a lot quicker. Try pointing a gun, throwing a rock or a Molotov cocktail at a cop in the US, and see how much good the second amendment will do you.

We've been there, what you get is the civil rights riots. Lots of water cannons, tear gas and attack dogs for the most part.

Generally speaking you don't control a riot by shooting individuals, that just infuriates it.
