<< Obviously it's a scam. You give them your bank info and they gaffe *everything* >>

I know, just never got a spam like this before...

I've gotten those... "former Nigerian Minister of the Treasury" or someone like it who is bilking his gov't of millions, and just needs you to help him get it here. He'll share it with you! Really!

Its such a mind-bogglingly dumb scam I fail to see how it has survived, yet its mere survival means someone must fall for it regularily. That simple fact speaks volumes about where we are all going, and what we are all doing in this handbasket.

How does someone who falls for it think?

"Sounds legit to me! And I'm sure this guy is on the level!"

Bwahahahahahaha!

(AphexII - I'm not implying at all that you even remotely fell for it. Just commenting in general 🙂)

hahaha, no prob... Im actually starting to get a little pissed about my 3-95.com webhosting, i get barraged with about 15 spams a day now through their servers....

DUUUUDE!!! Congrats on the luck! Incredible that you were chosen and not me 🙁 I sign up for that every month and never win. Perhaps you can loan me a few bucks 😉

<< no....its not a scam....give him your account # >>

already did 😉

it's a pretty old scam. if you do a search for "nigeria money scams" you'll find a lot of information about them. the one you got is not as bad as the lottery scams that target the elderly. they call people and tell them that they'e won $XXX,XXX amount of dollars and all they have to do is pay $X,XXX dollars as a tax. They tell them to send the money via Western Union, because it's not traceable, and once they get the money, you never hear from them again. The most notorious one is some Canadian Lottery scam. Pretty f-ed up stuff. 🙁

Why does everyone else get all the luck? I want a chance to make millions too. Aphex, if I give you my particulars, will you forward it to them and ask if I can be part of this fantastic opportunity? Thanks a lot.

<----looking forward to getting rich

I got one of these once and replied to it with a dirty limerick, the next day I got another email that basically said," Sir we do not appreciate your humor, if you are not interested in our offer, do not respond. If you persist, I will have someone come visit you and you will not find the visit a very pleasant one". Or something like that. I sent them/him every stupid dirty joke I could find every day for a week or so, never heard back. Kinda miss him 😉

<< that is a pretty clever new way to go about scamming someone >>

New? I think we know who's "new". That scam started as snail mail.
