I have a Creative 8432CDRW. Works just fine. But I didn't buy it. Got it as a gift so there 😛 And my two Durons kick ass at Word Processing Arena! I get over 100 WPM (words per minute)!

There are a couple of reasons for this:

First off, most major corporations want/need SMP (multi-processor) systems for their servers, and there aren't any SMP solutions (YET) for AMD processors.

Second, AMD processors USED TO BE vastly inferior to Intel CPU's and because of that, many corporate big-wigs who don't know what they are talking about insist that their companies MUST use Intel since 'AMD can't possibly be good enough to power their servers.'

Of course, AMD processors now are actually as good or better than Intel, and are also quite a bit cheaper, but that doesn't matter to those who have been 'trained' over the years to trust nothing but Intel.

As for a good response, take a look at what is inside the servers powering this message board! 🙂 If a 'hardcore' hardware review site thinks the Athlon is good enough for its servers, I'd say that's a pretty good indication of their viability.. 😀
