Uhh, wtf is this piece of hardware for?!!??

I just bought a Lian Li v2100 Plus case, and the manual does not say ANYTHING at all about this piece of hardware!

It looks like some sort of intake fan...

it does look like a fan. look for a place where you can plug it in and try it out.

Maybe it's just me, but I see something on the bottom of the sheet called " blower set installation". You might wanna check that out.

I did and found nothing. Couldn't find any holes that would line up for this.

It goes along a grill that is just a series of holes, that's why it doesn't have a set of holes specific to this blower.

Its just a simple blower fan use it to increase the circulation in the case. There is more than one place you can mount it.

Its the cooling unit that goes to the USB powered "Power Stroker" found in the locked thread in OT :laugh: Tell us how well it works for you!

EDIT: Ok now I'll help you :laugh: I looked at the site Go to your case's page here and look at the heat dissipating flow chart. Its a specially designed blower that goes in the back top of your case thats meant to remove heat from video cards.

weird. is it 5 1/4 or 3 1/2 across kinda looks like it. allow I dont see why a floppy or CD drive would be cooled.

Unless its made to blow down onto HDDs froma 5 1/4 spot

The blower pictured is part of a upgrade for a Lain Li case ventilation system. http://www.lian-li.com/Product/Accessories/Other_Blower_fan.htm
Frozencpu sells them as part of a Lian Li "kit"

Blowers deliver about 2-3 times the pressure of similarly rated (CFM) fans. They are also much quieter when working hard, though somewhat louder in free air.

I use a 450 CFM blower on a BIXIII Rad, and it quieter than the four 80mm, 35CFM fans in my case.

It faces the riser and blows out the rear.
