Some places make your sick days & vacation days one & the same. Then they won't let you take vacation time unless you have PTO accrued to cover it. If you're sick you HAVE to cover it with PTO time, no matter how much or little you have saved. So if you know you're cutting it close for a vacation you have planned, & one sick day will keep you from being able to go...

Guess what, you go to work.

Crappy policy, but that's the reason people do it.

I wish they'd just give us the option of taking sick days unpaid, or schedule unpaid time off.

How can someone have both pinkeye and strep?

I am pretty sure that is a health code violation for that person to be at work. Pinkeye is HIGHLY contageous, strep is pretty contageous too, but not as much as pinkeye.

Talk to the supervisor, that person should not be there, period.

Pinkeye isn't as contagious as some people think. My little boy had it recently and his doc said that to keep kids at school and daycare from getting it all they had to do was not use the same washcloths and not touch his hands. Well and not touch his eye either but who would do that? He heh.

As far as strep throat goes, that is very contagious and all ou have to do is breathe the same air to get it.

Now, I am currently sick with pleurisy. Ever hear of that? It's nasty. It's a virus or an infection in the walls of your lungs and it makes it to where breathing is VERY painful and hard to do. It also makes you dizzy, from lack of oxygen. Not contagious. God, these pain pills make me just go on and on and on and on.........
