uh oh video card trouble?

Did my video card just die on me? I was using my computer and then the screen flashed and went dark. When I restarted the computer this was the result. This has been happening in the past few days--once the computer screen went dark but after a few moments it came back.

nvidia 7600gt. There's another issue with this card that may have caused this situation. The fan on the card sucks and makes a lot of noise. Half a year ago it basically stopped working unless I opened up the case and spun it up with my fingers. I stopped gaming a while ago so most of the time I just never bothered to spin up the fan so it would be running around 70 Celsius.

I'm guessing it's a hardware issue and it's the video card.

I have a GeForce Go 7600 in an HP pavillion 9000 laptop.
it keeps locking up and parts of the screen get pixellated and blocky. I'm guessing the video card, secretly hoping I need to buy a new lap top.
Questions: Is this the video card? How much and where would you guys get this thing repaired?

Thanks for any advice.

Don't nvidia mobile graphics cards have some sort of issue where they go bad early? I'm not sure which models specifically have this problem.

Since this video card is probably not going to get better, does anyone have any recommendations in the <$100 dollar range from the nvidia camp? 256 bit memory would be nice; i've never had that. I would like to keep my graphics nvidia to avoid driver issues in windows and linux.

daniel, I will have to remember that for the next fan that goes bad because this video card produces artifacts right upon startup when it shouldn't be overheating yet.

It'll either be 9600gt or 9800gt I think.
