Uh, my internet has slowed to 1 mbps.

Any ideas why? Used to be anywhere from like 10-25 mbps, but all the sudden its gotten so slow. I've tried restarting my laptop, the modem, the router, but nothing is working! Any ideas why?
wired, or wireless? checked with speedtest.net?

And I cant figure out how to access the online client because linksys apparently isnt doing it by ip anymore, there is some website I have to enter and i cant remember it, lol

Thanks a ton!

Cisco cloud connect router? Maybe they're punitively throttling you for surfing porn. They monitor the web sites you visit (allegedly) and they can control your router remotely.

Also are you using Cable/DSL/Fiber?

I have seen on occasion that Cable providers will redistribute the bandwidth for your area and can end up throttling you in the process.

With that in mind have you called your ISP?

If you are on DSL or Fiber and your speed drops like that there could be something wrong with their network..a phone call would verify that.

Also..what speed do you pay for?

It could be your laptop is now only connecting via wireless B instead of G or N. That will certainly reduce your speed. A good bed would be to try a new card though especially if the laptop was dropped.

Wireless B raw rate maxes at up to 11 Mbits/sec
G maximum raw data rate of up to 54 Mbit/s,
N is up to 600 Mbit/s

Something like that. There are of course lots of things that can vary your speed but you can get the gist of connecting at a slower speed
