I'll keep it short:
1. I ordered a new Hard Drive from the egg on Sunday
2. I recieved said hard drive on Tuesday (so far, so good Newegg)
3. I installed said drive and all is well...
Two days pass...
4. At 4:17 (~48 hours after I recieved the drive) I got the following e-mail

I've left the tracking number intact, in case you doubt me.

As you can see, this IS the package that was delivered:

exact same thing happened to me... I ordered a new router, gigabit nic card, cat 5e cable, and an external hard drive enclosure on Sunday... items arrived on Tuesday.

tracking # arrived in my email today 😕
 
Eh atleast the HD came fast. I hear Newegg's next plan is to preempt your purchasing decision and simply ship the item before you order.

So? This has happened like this for years. You'll check the site, it shows shipped, yet you won't get the final email for like a day or two sometimes. Nothing new, doesn't impact their service one bit.

Your email had to travel further than the package did, of course you are going to recieve the HD first.
 
Wow, I've never had that happen. Usually I get the tracking e-mail as soon as the item is shipped (early next business day since I usually order late in the evening)
 
Yeah, this just happened to me too. Ordered on Tuesday, and the website actually showed 'Step 5' which means shipped but there was no tracking #. I asked them yesterday for a tracking number and it shows the package as coming today. I am actually pretty happy, since they usually take longer than a few hours to ship something.
