At the wife's parents' house for New Years Dinner...

Wife offered to have me fix the computer, because it has viruses.
"AVG says no viruses, Norton says 1, and Symantec Pro says 2"

?! You have 3 antivirus programs running!?

Started the going online process roughly 14 minutes ago... As soon as IE came up, I could see it's filled with comet cursor, smiley central, etc.

"here's one of the problems that's slowing your computer down" I said
"I'm not concerned about the speed... don't be deleting things. I just want the viruses gone.
Oh, and on dial-up too...

Took 5 minutes to get logged into Anandtech.

ughhh.

Sucks. :(

My family is always volunteering me to fix things, and it's not like I'm some kinda computer pro so it takes forever to fix anything. I mean hell, 95% of the time I go into it not having a clue what I'm doing (what these forums are good for), and it just takes a little googling to find your answers. So lately I'm like fvck it, I tell them to go to google and figure it out for themselves. Except the parents though, cause they bought me all this crap. :D

:thumbsup::thumbsup: McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0i :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Seriously, it detects 99.99% of the virus' out there and it can find a good portion of spyware and adware too.
