"No problem. All I've got to do is write a 2 page essay? Seems simple enough."

Fast forward to tonight when I set aside the time to write the 2 page essay...

Uttt ohhhh. 2 pages per question?!!! GAHHHH!

So, tonight I spent 3 hours on a 50 question multiple choice exam that kicked my butt. Then, I wrote 2 pages of responses to a classroom discussion.
Then a 5 page paper (expected) for another midterm
Then 13 more pages.

Total output: 20 pages typed, double spaced, in 8 hours. Not bad, ehh?

And I've only attended class, like, 4 times this semester.

Seriously 😉

I thought you retired? Why are you going to college?

I "retired" (with a pizza pension) from the pizza industry. Although I hung out with my former boss for a while yesterday and he asked when I was going to get scheduled for a few hours here and there.

I only retired because
a) I don't need the extra income
b) Even with the exceptional (for a restaurant in this area) wages I was earning, my wife could pick up an extra 8 hour shift as a nurse, get paid time and a half, plus get paid a bonus of $10 an hour for a critical need shift. Thus, if we wanted the extra money, she gets to work, instead of me.
c) kids were both on football teams and Friday night games conflicted with Friday night working.

I am a teacher though; have been for several years. I'm currently working on a master's degree in technology in education, and a master's degree in physics. It'll be a long time before I ever decide not to bother taking master's level classes for the sake of learning something new.

But, I'm considering coming out of retirement (for the pizza shop) because I enjoyed the comraderie with friends working there (policeman, accountant, draftsman - all working there more or less for the heck of it.)
