It's worth it to have the weather though. I'm not sure I could have lived through another week of sun and hot.

Run over them with the lawn mower. :D

Although our tree doesn't lose it's leave until the snow starts coming down.

Why rake leaves? Mulch them with the lawn mower. Leaves are supposed to give their nutrients back to the earth... not the landfill.

I have a very nice lawn and the leaves are mulched into it every year.

I'm going to try mower mulching, but I'm not sure how well it will work. I think I'm just going to wind up with a layer of mulch so thick it kills the yard.

too many leaves will change the acidity of your soil and can kill your grass. Depends on tree species and how many leaves and all though. I have several sycamores with HUGE leaves, and they would definitely kill my grass.

Because I have a big ass bushy tree and a relatively small front yard. Even with a mower mulching it, it wouldnt go over well.

You have to go over them quite a few times to get them cut up in small enough pieces.

I have a couple huge trees in my yard that leave a lot of leaves every year. I just mulch them and my yard looks great.

Exactly. I have 25+ trees on a standard suburban sized lot. I don't think mower mulching will be effective enough. I may try a combo of mower and bagging. The cities here have a yard waste pickup. So you just go buy roll of green garbage bags and they take the yard waste and mulch it themselves.

I use a mower to mulch them but with catch bag. Too many trees/leaves in my yard to just let them fly. Would definitely kill a good bit of my grass if I did that.
