So I switched from sprint in Dec of last year, yea!

I kept my number, but converted it to google voice, better portability, anyways.
Seems since then I get more telemarketers, mostly the ones for lower credit rates.

I think I have GV setup correctly (for whitelist), but I don't want voice mails from these bozos, is there a way to disable the voicemail portion for this group?

I could swear at one point you could play the "This number is no longer in service" message for rejected calls, but I can't find it.

I can't remember the last time I got a call from an anonymous number from a telemarketer though. Most of the time it seems they are spoofing my area code now.

It doesn't matter what you do, you won't get off their list. And yes, they LOVE to spoof your area code & even prefix now.

However, on the google voice issue... yeah usually Google Voice won't ring your phone /w spam callers, but it does sometimes let through the voicemail prior to it throwing them over to Spam.

If you find a better way, I'd love to know it, I probably have 100+ blocked #'s but it does little to no good when they just spoof different numbers.

I think you can turn screening on and it makes them identify themselves. If its not the right name I think it can block it? Also I set up a special message for the voicemail for calls I dont want to a recording of "the number you have reached has been disconnected etc." I found a recording on the internet so it sounds legit. They never call back thinking its a dead number.

You'd think, but that's what happens when you block them too, they still try with other numbers and keep calling.

So as far as a white list goes, I think I fig'd it out. Under "Phones", I turned OFF all forwarding.
Under "Groups and circles", I have all contacts forwarding to my cell. I tested it and people on my contact list can connect.

Time will tell if those outside the list will get thru. Guess no news would be good news.
