Ugh! Should I get another GF4 TI or wait for the Radeon 9500?

Newegg loves to play the game of refunding money instead of replacing the item. So now I'm stuck with an old radeon until I can get a decent video card.
I heard that the Radeon 9500 will be out sometime this quarter. Does anyone know anything about the Radeon 9500? News on this card has been sparse.
Is it a decent card that will blow the doors off of an equivalent priced Geforce 4 Ti4400 or will I be waiting for nothing?
Opinions? Comments? Cow Sacrifices? (J/K on the last one )

I would probably wait a few weeks and simply get the 9500 because it should be coming out soon and should be priced similarly to the TI4400. Unless you really want to, don't wait for NV30, otherwise you will be stuck in the endless loop of "In just 2 months a newer faster card will be out" and then you will end up with nothing.

The 9500 doesn't sound like a very good card compared to it's big brother the 9700. It will have slower clocks, of course, and half the pipelines. I guess it will still be faster than a Ti 4400 and maybe even the 4600. We'll have to wait and see. If ATI was smart, and so far they haven't convinced me that they are, they wouldn't wait to release the 9500. They should release it now because not very many people are going to buy the 9700 and the 9000 isn't very appealing. But if they release two versions of the 9700 like Anand said, the 9700 and the 9700 Pro, the regular 9700 might be the thing to look at if the price is right and the performance is close to the Pro.

Besides who can wait to buy a card a few months from now with all these new cards taunting us to buy them now.

If the early benchmarks are to be believed then Rad9500 could pretty much be half the speed of Rad9700 and still compete with GF4TI4200 cards. However, it will be much like nVidia with their 4200 April release when the 4400 and 4600 were released in Feb. If nVidia had released 4200 in Feb it would have severely hurt their $250+ 4400 and 4600 sales. I would expect Rad9500 to come Dec-ish, but if I was you I'd get a 4200-128MB now. If you wait for the Rad9500, you'll prob wait for all of the reviews and info, then ditto for the new nVidia cards, then ditto for the nVidia budget cards and before you know it a year will have passed and you'll still be stuck with your old Radeon.

Ok Ok I give up. Newegg dropped the price on those Asus refurb ti4600's to $229 so I got one of those.
I figure I'll have better luck with an Asus card over any other card.

I hope so, the only vid card i've ever had go bad on me for no reason was an Asus Gf1 DDR. That soured my taste for any Asus card, ever.

Odd, I had an asus tnt1 and tnt2 and both of them never gave me any problems.

None of my have every given me any problems. And I have some freaking old video cards. The oldest one I'm currently using is a 4Mb PCI trident card. It's slow, but works perfectly for a second monitor.

I am very picky, and my MSI TI4400 is doing GREAT!
