I was going to purchase a television on Craiglist. The guy was offering it at a near-criminal price - awesome price. I was holding my breath that I would have been able to purchase it, but I can't count the number of times I wanted to purchase something on Craiglist, but after contacting the seller, found out it was already sold.

Well, I tried contacting the guy and said I was interested in purchasing it, was it still available? The guy never responded. Apparently, he must have already sold it & was too lazy to take down the ad. (He even said that if the ad was still up, it was still available - yet he must have forgotten.)

*sigh*

Buahaha

I laugh because I had a similar experience. I lost my ATM card on Friday, and my bank is closed today. I was $5 short on cash for the TV, and I offered someone $5 less so that I could go pick it up today. I never heard back.

Buyers are even worse. I've had 5 no shows for the same item in 2 weeks

It's the funniest when the prospective buyer sends me an offer, lowballs and I accept at a $5 premium, then never hear back. Classic interwebs etiquette.

My experience has been good with cragslist, have sold computers, computer parts, whole vehicles, car parts and other random electronics and never had a no show but have had tons of spam and tire kicking dreamers spamming my inbox.

Typically i price the stuff near the lowest price i will take, accept the fact nearly every seller will sweet talk you down cheaper even if its $5 off a $20 item,it means the world to them to wheel and deal with you and i typically set the lowest price i will accept in my head,if the buyer doesn't hassle the price or waste my time with a million emails perhaps i will shock with a lower out the door price for items.:)

That's why I always price my CL items a bit higher than what I actually want.

I know they're going to offer less than what I'm asking, so when they do I get the price I want and they think they're getting a better deal.
