UGH! LCD just fried by LA storm!?

Ok, so I was in the kitchen and the lights flickered heavily after a lightening strike and now I go in and I see a horrible line on my laptop's lcd that sort of flickers on and off..

Its like a strip of pixels across the entire height of the screen...

Is that is, my lappy if fooked?
 
Warranty no, laptop mine yes....

Bleh.. I can live with it, but its going to get real annoying if I ever try to play a game on this POS again...
 
Its a one year war, its now one year and two weeks old...
 
or maybe if you are lucky you were using a power surge bar and because your lcd got owned the people who made the power surger bar are gonna have to pay for it to be replaced or money. what kinda laptop is it?
