Ugh... Issues with my Mac

So, i have a macbook blk, 1 yr old... There are times where it will just freeze... not completely, but Firefox will typically freeze, cant scroll up or down, cant close even via force quit, but i can scroll up and down adium on the side... the mouse turns into the pinwheel circle spinning thing and lasts for about 1 minute to 2 minutes... then stops... and everything works again... but it does this every 2 or 3 hours i would venture a guess...

Also, I am having issues with Mail and attaching files... it seems to instantly crash when i attempt to attach a file to an email (aka i cant send out resumes)...

anyone have any suggestions?

Oh, and when the freezing happens, in my CPU monitor, both CPU's go completely dead, and randomly have quick bursts, aka when i get a small fraction of a second of use from the computer, then die again, and it lasts about 2 min.

My next question is, can i install Windows 7 RC on the mac w/ bootcamp? if so, how should i prepare the laptop?

How much memory do you have in there, and after installing iStat Menus and configuring it, how much is being used when these things happen?

Have you tried on a different account?

Win 7 will install, just do it the same way you would any other OS. No preparation needed.

Memory when it happens can range from what i have no available: 622mb out fo 1gb to literally 10 minutes after starting OSX with maybe 800mb free... It doesnt matter what im doing, typically happens when browsing the internet as thats my main function, it does occur at any point however...

Yea.. I would try to make a new user account and try that. If that doesn't work.. maybe try cleaning out the system with Onyx. Or a reinstall, but that would be my last resort.

If none of that works, you more than likely have some hardware issues.

My girlfriend had this exact same problem with her white macbook. All I can tell you is after replacing the HDD, RAM, DVDRW, Logic board and reinstalling OSX about 15 times something fixed it and it doesn't happen anymore

It would have been cheaper for apple to just replace the damn thing but the geniuses apparently thought I was stupid because I own a thinkpad

Are you running the latest version of 10.5? Also, does this same freezing problem happen with Safari?

Have you tried it under a different user account yet?
