Ugh I hate my graphic arts class

Everytime I go we get 20-50 thumbnails to turn in next class. I cannot keep up.I have 20 thumbnails, a rough draft of my previous project, and a final draft of the first project all due tomorrow. Plus we get 20-50 more thumbnails due the next class again. Weeee!
On top of my other 3 classes and working full time, I am thinking about dropping that class.
Meh.

No thanks. On top of that I am gaining weight because I cannot find the time to eat right. I have to eat fast now. Just whenever I can.

Can't you brown bag it?

And couldn't you talk to your instructor about your position?

She has already discussed that if we dont have time we need to make time. (I am not the only one in this position)

I hate my 3d design class (not 3d animation, but working with your hands).. Our teacher is a nazi, crazy ass retard that keeps giving us these sh1tty projects. In my house i have to bring home all As, and thats just another B in my book. We're doing wire sculptures and what not, and it sucks ass. And when it comes to art i'm usually very creative. She's probably into that ass fetish stuff.

And what are the thumbnails supposed to be of?

If you're a major and a few of the other students in that class are in the same situation, couldn't you talk to the department head about this?

Welcome to life.

This isnt life. It's insanity. Everything has to be hand drawn in pencil, close to final draft, and she says its only going to get worse.

So quit then. You sound like a quitter anyway. It's too hard for you, give up. That's the way to do it.

Last one was redesigning an album cover of your choice 20 time in different art styles, (cubism, realism, etc...etc..)
The one before that was redesigning a full page magazine ad 20 times and your redesign has to be better than the ad was. This is intro to graphic arts. A freshman course.
Maybe this is normal but its hard because they have to be close to final draft when you turn them in.

What is a "thumbnail"?? It doesn't sound like something hard to make to me.

Its harder than you think if you want a decent grade.

Ok, so WTF is it? I've done graphics design...it's okay...I think I can understand if you tell me.

Is it a secret or something?

Its a smaller version of your final draft.

A small sketch that gives the basic idea of a design.

It's really just to get the creative juices flowing, because the first few ideas usually aren't the best.

OP: Welcome to graphic design. Everyone wants it in a few days, but they always wait for the last minute to give you the assignment.

My advice: Save those thumbnails and use the ideas for future projects. What looks bad with one subject will look good with something.

These have to be close to final. They cant just be a sketch.
If I could do that it would be no problem. She marks off for that.

Final draft of what?

I know what a thumbnail is. A smaller version of a picture or something. But it's made after that is already done.

What are you making?

And if it's of your final draft...does that mean you have 20-25 final drafts due? You aren't making any sense here.
