Ugh - I hate K-Mart.

My sister brought me there today to look at some stuff for my bed, and the store was in horrible condition. Florescent lights out on the ceiling, disgusting floors, merchandise that has been in the store so long that it's covered in dust. All of their floor models of merchandise was busted.

The only decent thing in the store is the Martha Stewart crap, and even that's hit and miss. Everything else - crap. It's all overpriced, old, and decrepit.

Seriously - if I owned one of the stores, I'd just burn it to the ground - more likely to get more money from the insurance payoff than you'd actually sell from the store 😛

Yeah, K-mart sucks. I used to work there. 6 months after the opened a Wal-mart literally across the street. Not enough employees, a screwed up working system, bitchy co-workers, and low pay.

Errr

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Kmart is buying Sears, Roebuck & Co. for $11 billion in a deal that will marry two of the nation's oldest retailers that had trouble keeping up with the changes in American culture around them.

It's kind of like a tree falling in the forest and no one's around to hear it - who cares?

Happens at my store too, but stuff starts collecting dust on the first day. Lots of dust comes from the DC and I don't think there are any filters in the ventilation system at my store.

Blame the customers. It's expensive to replace floor models.

Examples? I'm curious.

It sounds like there's quite a few people who haven't been to a kmart in a long time. I'll be very honest....I love Target. It's a great store, everything is cleanly laid out, and they generally have a great product selection. Kmart isn't that much different. We've upgraded our lighting systems, expanded all of our product lines, and try to have a friendly and helpful staff. If you have a complaint, question, or comment, feel free to speak to a manager at any store. We're all here to create a great shopping experience for you.

i used to go to kmart.now the closest one is almost an hour away.

I go to kmart once in a while if I need something you'd go to that kinda store to get on the weekend.. you couldn't pay me enough to go to walmart on saturday or sunday and the road target and walmart are on is not much fun on the weekend because everything and the mall is on that road and the highway dumps right on to it.. it's horrible on saturday/sunday.., the kmart is just as close but no involved in getting there.

I kinda like the martha stewart towels and sheets and stuff, if you get the top tier ones, when they're on sale.

but you're right.. it's not really a pleasant place to shop, environment-wise.. but the people that work at the one near me are for the most part pretty nice. the guy in electronics is a little too nice.
