"No one can have my name and email address"
"yes m'am they must, it shows here its taken"
"Well, Can't you give me that one?"
"No m'am, I will not disconnect a customers service, just so you can have there email address m'am, we can't do that. Try adding a number to the end? "
"Well fine, I want to cancel my service than"
"Ugh, fine, I'll tranfer you to billing"

Anyone else have any frustrating support stories?

Customer called in, got pissed at out regular technicians that do the calls, asked to speak to a supervisor, I wander off to see what she wants, its setting up an email address, when she gave us the email she wanted to set up, we told her it wasn't availble, that's the convo that followed.

Trust me I've dealt with plenty of f^ckers like that and worse in my past life in tech support. Hence why I no longer work in call centers.

yes, every single day

Story! :D

this one is more funny then frustrating.

i am leaving work so i cant really eloborate but the best call i ever had was when i was doing dial up support for bellsouth (pre broadband days) and a customer called in to inform us that one of our satellites was burning up and coming back into the atmosphere as we were speaking. i informed him that there were no satellites involved in his internet connection and his reaction was "you mean to tell me that there are telephone wires going across the ocean" so i proceeded to give him a brief history of how they were laid. the guy said that he had called NASA in huntsville and spoken with some colonel who confirmed his satellite story. after arguing with him for about 20 minutes he hung up and then he ended up calling back and speaking with half of the techs and all of the supervisors. it provided the entire tech floor with a great laugh.

Man I would NEVER survive in a job like that! First of all stupid people piss me off and secondly I am convinced that people who are technically challenged should never even begin messing around with computers ;)
