For the first time I had a final that I performed much worse on than I thought I did. Was confident studying a week in advance, felt that it wasn't too bad I got at least an ~85% on it (about what I got on the two midterms), and with a promised generous curve and already standing on the cusp of an A without it I was certain I did fine. Got a 65% instead and am waiting for the inevitable B for the class.
I still have the nightmare that I'm taking a final that I haven't prepared for even though it's been 2 years since I graduated. I'm told it takes decades for that to go away![]()

I lived the classic final story. I had a business class that was taught straight out of the book. Once I was sure, about two weeks in, I never went to class again and only showed up for tests. Well, come the final, they had moved it up two hours. I strode into the auditorium and all the lights were off except for a pool of light at the bottom where sat the prof next to a pile of blue books. I ran down the stairs and asked if I could take the test. He looks at his watch and says I've got 20 minutes. I finished in 15.![]()
I almost missed it.
How well did you do? They didn't email you at all about the change?
It was voted on in class and the concept of notifying students by email hadn't been invented yet.How well did you do? They didn't email you at all about the change?
We used chalkboards and, that's the way we liked it.I'm surprised that they even had electricity back when Magnus was taking classes.![]()
Ha ha!
No more finals for me.
:awe:
Same here, been since 2007 since I'm done school. Love it, would never want to go back.
In my math class I had a shitty 65-70% going into the final. I took the final, felt confident and left the class with a B!
Economics, I probably studied a total of an hour and showed up to a third of the classes and aced every test. Apparently they weren't easy ones as the majority of the class scored C's. I do not know how I pulled that one off. I just felt like I already knew it all...
In writing I totally stunk it up at the end. I had an A going into the final essay and I changed topics in the end and wrote a 9 page essay on a new topic in just 5 hours right before the paper was due. I am happy to walk out of there with a B. I probably scored a 70/100 on that paper AT BEST.
You can guess most economics 101 questions if you read news about business and companies. I never studied economics.
Eh, it was econ 200. Second year level. Business isn't even close to my degree (elec. eng.) but it looked easy and I received approval to take it. I'm thinking business degrees must NOT be that hard...
