I really don't like the view distance, my guys only notice enemies in broad daylight when they come within 30 feet of them. It makes long range weapons useless unless you have someone running around scouting.
lozina:Later in the game you can research night vision goggles or infra-red ones, does help :).I have 3 of my snipers at major level :) .

I feel with this game I always need more men, with Aftershock having enough men was not a problem.

Ah yeah, I wish I knew earlier how limited new peoplw would be because I like to let things flow and if I blunder in battle and lose some guys I like to play on and role play that into my game. But since I get no new reinforcements I cant afford to lose anyone else so I have to save/reload if anything bad happens.

I really like the sounds of that night vision and infared :)

BTW- how do you use doppler/metal scanners? I equipped one of my guys with them and cannot figure out how it works. I clicked on the Use button and then right clicked on the ground near the guy, and I dont notice anything happening.

Not tried a metal scanner yet to tell you the truth.

Have you ever gotten to a point where you try building something like a Mine or Radar station in a region bordered by enemies, and everytime your tech truck gets there they get attacked? It's happened now 3 time sin a row in the same place - not letting me build here.

I normally clear a few enemy areas first before building any new radar/mine stations,so far that has worked, however I do get enemy incursions into my new territories so have to defend now and then.

Try not to expand too fast, get your stations upgraded with radar/mine stations etc... before you conquer new areas.

Afterlight is more solid than the previous two in terms of gameplay/story and pretty much bug-free. The graphics are a big step backward though - Aftermath(!), which came out in 2003, looked better than this. LEGO Star Wars looks less blocky. Not a treat for the eyes, but it's passable. Needless to say, I don't find myself zooming in too often, which I would do in Aftermath/Aftershock.
