Watching UFC 90 right now, am I the only one annoyed by Joe Rogan's partner? He's stepping all over ROgan's color commentary role. Annoying to listen to since Joe Rogan has to contradict him sometimes and its just awkward.
 
Haha I don't watch the UFC all that much, but I don't think I've met a single fan who enjoys that guy's commentary.
 
Mike Goldberg. Not the best, but they have some kind of chemistry.

I really liked Mauro and Bas when they commented for Pride. Bas had the real experience while Mauro commented with an IQ higher than Joe and Mike's combined.

Bas rambled too much for my liking. I like Rogan's color commentary. Sharp and to the point. A little humor thrown in .
 
Goldberg isn't that great at analyzing the fight, but he carries the commentary while Joe pops in whenever it's important. It's not perfect but they complement each other well. He's also handy when they have guest commentators on, as Joe isn't as good at interviewing.
 
I don't mind Joe during the fight, but he fucking blows at interviews. "Tell me what was going through your head when you got knocked out"
 
I think all announcers today overannounce. Seems like they're all in love with their own voices and god forbid if there is a split second of silence.
 
UFC commentary is horrible.

Joe Rogan is a god damn nutt hugger who is so biased it's not even funny
and Goldie, well aside from some unintentionally hilarious one liners doesn't offer much. Goldie is also very biased and it has shown on many fights. And if I have to hear him say "Chuck Liddell's sprawl is LEGENDARY!" one more time I will find him and punch him in the face.
Goldie also screws up fighters names pretty frequently, and I don't mean mispronouncing, but actually getting it wrong. I remember on of of the older UFC, maybe 35 Goldie called Josh Barnet, Steve Barnet and Rogan was like "wow you must be talking about Josh's brother..." and Goldie played it off like he meant to do it lol. His comments when he's biased are also funny

"Travis Lutter is the Michael Jordan of Mixed Martial Arts!" Had me dying.

The best would be Bas + maybe Muaro, or Bas + Rampage. In Pride when Randleman was fighting and Muaro & Page were doing commentary

"'Page with a nice suplex!" - Muaro
"That's Randleman, but it's ok all us black people look alike" - Page


I will say as much as I dislike their obvious nutt hugging, Joe & Mike do work well together. And in all honesty are worlds better than the original team UFC had lol



 
Mir is pretty good - I think he does WEC? Joe Rogan is great if you are a newcomer spectator to the UFC. Once you know the sport well enough, he's not so great.
 
goldberg sounds like a computer program when he does the voiceovers for the promos. every single sentence is said with the exact same inflection.
 
Even though most hardcore MMA fans don't like Goldberg, the UFC, IMO, is smart to keep him around, as UFC/MMA newbies seem to appreciate his commentary.

Rogan actually understands the ground game very well, but damn, he needs to not do video interviews when he's stoned!
