ufc compromised and were going to let fedor participate in sambo matches. The deal killer was when m-1 wanted to co-promote.

Having a ground game is probably the most important skill in mma. Sure a guy could work on his takedown defense but most matches end up on the ground at some point. Punching a guy on the ground effectively is actually pretty hard especially if he's got you in a full/half guard.

lesnir showed that against mir in their first fight. in their second meeting he learned how to do SOMETHING on the ground and just held mir down and punched his face off.

Fedor's team wanted UFC to co promote their organization at UFC events. Dana agreed to let him fight sambo and give him the money but Dana wasn't going to promote some other organization at UFC. I agree with Dana 100% on that. It looks like Fedor is looking to find ways to get out of fighting in the UFC rather than looking for ways in.

this ^

Everything I've heard and read is that Dana has given in to Fedor's reasonable demands to make him part of the UFC, but his camp keeps coming back with all these ridiculous stipulations; owning rights to all the footage of his fights, requiring x number of UFC events in Russia, other crap.

Fedor is a great fighter, but he's in the twilight of his career and IMO he's just dodging the UFC HW beasts to keep his record (nearly) pristine. JDS, Lesnar, Carwin, Mir, even Cain Velasquez I think would probably beat Fedor today. Hell, he was clearly losing against a washed up Arlovski last year before he dropped that nuclear weapon on his grill and put him to sleep.

That's ridiculous. Fedor has built his brand by not losing for almost a decade. There's no reason he should have to set his promotion company aside for a static paycheck when he deserves a co-promotion and a piece of the ppv pie.

And White and co have built the UFC to massive success... why the hell should they have to promote a COMPETITOR to get 1 fighter?

Let Fedor wear some shit on his trunks and in his corner about the other promotion
