If you were about to get in a fist fight with somebody but you had time to put on your mma gloves would you put them on or fight bare knuckle?

reason I ask is because sure getting punched bare knuckle might hurt a bit more and do more surface damage, but wearing a glove means you can punch way harder and really tee off on a guys head without breaking your hand

what would you choose, fight with bare knuckles or mma gloves on?

Gloves are merely to stop skin tears in both MMA and boxing. It keeps the fights from being stopped for reason of a skin tear that won't stop bleeding. They don't offer much "protection" or "pad" the blows against your face. You can still break your hand.

That's what wraps are for, and yes, they do minimize the risk of damage to the small bones of your hand.

i think i would put the gloves on because then i could really tee off on a dudes face without worrying about splitting a knuckle on a tooth

In a street fight, the only reason for a closed fist punch is for a sucker punch.
If you want to tee off someone's face, stomping, kicking, hammerfist, elbows are a lot more effective without breaking the knuckles.

Depends on how much skill you have in fighting.

And take note that I said fighting not UFC or MMA.

For what I am assuming by the individual and situation you are suggesting I would say put on the gloves actually. This is because most fists are not conditioned so the gloves will protect your hands plus you can punch with more force if you need to when you have unconditioned hands and shit.

However if you have a conditioned body including your hands you can cause cuts with bare hands from your knuckles.

pretty much this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFKUKWXQMsE

Iron shirt and iron body techniques have been around in some form in china for centuries. The Xiaolin techniques have been copied by pretty much everyone.

I dont study the old school stuff anymore but that teachers hands were so damn heavy if he just about brushed you with them you would feel like bricks hit. Well its becuase he could break bricks with his hands.

He had an interesting story he was tortured and horribly abused by the Chinese during the cultural revolution and he became known for enduring terrible tortures and afterwards he quipped it was about as grueling as his training when he was 10 though he was probably making light of the worst experience in his life.

If I hit someone in the face full speed I would probably break my hand because I dont have the intestinal fortitude to torture myself like those guys did so I practice back hand strikes and palm strikes and open hand strikes to soft areas.

A backfist to the face is enough for me.

I did fracture a bone in my wrist on a block. Hell If a guy training in this shit hits you and manage to block with your forearms those bones could break like twigs.
