At a 3-1 underdog, DC is worth the bet. He'll be in his best cardio shape, and if he can keep from being pinned against the cage and keep the pressure on Jones while staying inside, he'll have a great chance. The real questions imo are how much rust will Jones have, and will he too be in great cardio shape (like he usually is or better.) Even though Jones will be stronger (based on his recent pics), he still won't be stronger than DC, and he's not going to want to brawl with him, so I don't see that as much of a factor.

I disagree being worth a bet. Even at 10-1 I wouldn't do it, I am speaking purely on how odds makers try and get you to lose money. I have only bet one time on a MMA fight and I bet the underdog because I knew the odds makers were wrong. I won, bet on who you think will win, in the long run you will do better.

um no.. if dc was stronger than Jones, then he wouldn't have been pinned to the cage.
he would have reversed it and pinned Jones.

the stronger person is (usually) the one who does the cage pinning

yeap. while technique has a lot to do with it. a good strong guy is going to win. JBJ is good.

Though more i think about the rematch. I think DC takes it.

DC cant win, I expect the same thing as the first fight. Jones uses his range, and brains. The guy is undefeated, the loss is a BS DQ.

JBJ looking TST

So explosive

Well its still a fight. You could have guys fight 10 times and one may win 8 out of 10 but its still unknown. Things happen. So dc can win but you are probably right.

For the right price, I'd take either side of the bet. Are you offering 10-1? 😉

Not necessarily true. With Jones' height, he gets more leverage leaning at a greater angle on the shorter DC against the cage, and as a result, can put more weight on DC. DC can't lean on Jones against the cage at the same angle because his upper body would be too low. That's a very exhausting position to overcome. Jones can't push DC around in the middle of the octagon, and that's where DC needs to stay.

Yada yada. Every undefeated champion is undefeatable...until they are defeated.

we wouldnt watch any of this stuff if it was a certainty. Its not boxing 🙂 I like dc's style and he is a powerful dude (watching him bodyslam dudes that weigh the same is fun as hell) but jon has got some serious fuck you up.

hopefully they will be warned of eye pokes and deduct IF it happens. JBJ has a history of being a little careless with his fingers.

watch that fight. I had forgotten it but its pretty nice.

It's hard to watch that fight and not believe DC can win. He gassed out and the championship rounds were a shadow of the first 3. Either way, it will be a great fight.

Other news:

New York legislature passes legislation legalizing mma (somewhere around 113-25.) Governor must now pass.

I know its not a done deal, but how the fuck has it taken so long?

DC looked great. For sure. But he did fade. I think he really piled it on Anthony Johnson inn his next fight so maybe he has made some improvement to his cardio. DC is cool JJ is cool. Let it be a good competitive fight and may the best man win.

I'll take a stab at it and blame it on money coming from the boxing industry. Mma is going to own msg now (behind the knicks.)

There should be room for both, I would think MMA and boxing would bring in more money together, rather than having one and not the other.

re: holly holmes/tate championship match:
1) how did tate manage to hold onto her choke hold when she was flipped over holly's shoulder?

2) after the flip and tate held on, what else could holly have done?
(I'm thinking since tate is now underneath holly that holly could just start pounding on tate.
and tate had to choose to continue tying to choke or let go and defend?)

DC has to win this for his sanity, I don't think he can possibly make it happen. But he will completely break it he loses. At the press conference they were cheering Bones who's a felon and all sorts of other bad shit. They boo'ed the fuck out of DC and he looked so upset. His frustration is very apparent when he's being interviewed and Bones is there, or even just mentioned. I think he loses, and retires.
