UFC: GSP leaving indefinitely

Sucks for the fans he is leaving, but it sounds like he needs it.

Hopefully, someone can step up and replace him.

I'd still have loved to see him fight Silva. =(

No suprise. after the last fight he was sounding like a guy who really really needed a break. Then all the bullshit with Dana.

I think GSP thought about it and finally got balls to stand up to Dana and the UFC.

hope he deals with whatever he has to deal with.

Dana at least apologized for being out of line after 167...surprising to hear him actually offer one up

Writing was on the wall...everyone needs to be able to do whatever they want out of life. Good for him...he's got way more money to be made in movies and whatnot vs training 10 hours a day, getting the crap beat out of you.

Vacated belt to be decided by Hendricks vs Lawler on March 15 in Dallas.

whoa what?!

he could have done an Anderson silver and say he wont fight for 9-12 months.
and still keep the belt

He probably wants to start doing movies. Pull a Rock and go back and do a fight every so often. Can't say I blame him...he has all the name recognition and can do anything he wants to in life.

From what I've read, he's ridiculously obsessive about his upcoming fights. It pretty much takes up 100% of his mind, body, and spirit. No wonder he needs a break. Someone close to him said (something to the effect of) "This is the first time he's getting good sleep at night."
