UFC Finale: Penn/Pulver, Gambybleh/Diaz

I got Pulver over Penn. I hated BJ since that show started.

Manny over Nate. Nate has better jiu jitsu but Manny's just a monster...his ground skills aren't quite on par with Nate's but just think he's going to overwhelm him.

Very excited to see this. My votes go for who I want to win...BJ and Diaz, however I see Manny as being an extremely difficult fight for Nate because he is a f'in savage.

Penn should win. Pulver has not been great for a while. though penn has looked like crap the last fe fights.

as for the other? no clue really. both have a good chance.

Pulver really isn't in the same league as Penn anymore...
Maybe when BJ was a n00b, and Pulver was a wily vet... it was close, but not anymore...

-> BJ by TKO (strikes) rd 1.

Diaz is a much more talented fighter, but Gamburyan is good at sitting on people.

-> Diaz by Submission (Kimura) rd 2.

BTW, it was nice of Spike to show the preview of tomorrow's fight PRIOR TO THE LAST SEMI BEING SHOWN LAST NIGHT. Idiots!

QFMFT!!!! They aired that promo and just started cursing the screen. It was still a good fight, but I HATE knowing who wins before I see it for myself.

Penn to win (Love watching his old fights, one of my favorite fighters so I'm a little bias)
Diaz (don't know why but I think that the finale will probably go like that last fight)

they showed both semis last week in two back to back new episodes of ufc. you must have missed the second show and assumed it was a rerun.

It was. Last Thursday (June 14th) had the last two shows.

I hope Penn wins...and I still think he's in better condition than Pulver considering that he's had more top-ranked fights recently. I also hope that Diaz wins...he can definitely stand with Manny since he has a huge reach advantage, so Manny will do what he always does and take Diaz down...and then Diaz will try about 257.3 submissions before one pays off 😛

War Penn! War Diaz!

BJ is one of the most talented fighters of all time. I love watching him fight. I cringe every time his fights get into the latter rounds though, cause odds are that he will gas since he isn't known for conditioning.

I think Diaz wins via submission. He put on a clinic aganist Maynard going from sub attempt to sub attempt.

Manny Gamburyn will act like a blanket and attempt to smother Diaz. Expect to see Nate fall asleep from the boredom in the 3rd round.

When Manny's hand is raised in victory both fighters will look refreshed like they just had a nap.

THEY ALREADY AIRED THOSE EPISODES LAST WEEK. How dare they air repeats in an attempt to get more interest in the fight Saturday night! If you haven't already watched it, tough.

Diaz will be too busy from the bottom for manny to pull the smother act. I got diaz in that one. I'd like to say penn over pulver easily but you never know with penn.

I'll be pulling for Diaz. The last thing the UFC (or world) needs is another Diego Sanchez to put the crowd into a coma fight after fight.

Although Manny does lay-n-pray, he seems to at least try to work from the mount. Diaz, otoh is just a monster from the bottom. He reminds me of the old school bjj fighters who were the masters on the bottom. He has that same rubbery, move all over, attack from every inconceiveable angle, that Royce Gracie and his ilk exhibit. Also he has what I call "dead shark" eyes. You know the look: Complete indifference like he isnt even fighting.

Gray thought he had him in trouble, but BJ knew he would get subbed. Funny line from BJ when he said how someone inexperienced with fighting a bjj artist thinks he is in control and then BAM! Sub city. He knew Nate had the mad skills even before the competition.

Have any of you seen him fight Hermes Franca in WEC 24 ? Pretty damn good fight considering he was only 20, I believe, against a far more experienced Franca.

It will be interesting to see if Karo Parysian does

a) Go after Nate Diaz for punking him on the show;

b) Throw down with his ex trainer Gokor, who is cornering Manny instead of Karo,

or

C) Hunt down Nick Diaz just for fun. Maybe they can throw down at a local hospital or something. ( See Nick v. Joe Riggs)
or

D) Possibly all of the above!

Dont forget Nick is forbidden from cornering Nate due to his suspension because of the cronic. Imagine this nutjob pacing around, with Karo close by. This may be more fun outside the ring than in!

Peace

absolutely flawless. that was a beautiful thing to watch. on a side note, looks like noone will get to know how bj feels about it... lol

I turned it off right after the fight. What happened?

I like how BJ held the chock just a little bit too long.

I didn't find Sanchez boring when he kicked the sh!t out of Parysian.
