JBJ is such a disappointment nowadays. Seems like after the fight with Gustavision (sp?) he just kind of derailed. Maybe it was before that, but that is when I noticed.

Press conference with Jones. He apologized to everyone including DC, then took a couple questions. He wouldn't say what he tested positive for other than it was something he can't even pronounce. He denied taking anything, stood against doping, and then walked out after a couple minutes. He looked pretty broken.

I hope his B sample is tested and clean. Just for more egg on the face of WADA and how bullshit it is to notify him so fucking late.

Jones probably lost millions of dollars from this PPV and whatever chance he had on being on a NYC card as well. He's such a POS.
In case anyone forgot what a "stand up citizen he is"

I agree. They said the test was about a month ago and it was tested many times?
It's not some scheme to derail JBJ at UFC 200. Considering it was just a U.S. holiday, it's been a little over 2 weeks.

I'm not sure Dana White knows what he's talking about, but he's saying that the lab/USADA have to be very sure of their findings before notifying the athlete of a positive test.

What came out of Jones' mouth in the presser is something damning, I don't mean he knowingly took a PED but it sounds shady:

Jones, who trains out of Jackson-Wink MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico, said he introduced "a few things" to his body during this latest camp but described them as having "nothing to do with performance." He said he is compiling a list of all the supplements he has taken during camp to pinpoint the source of the positive test.

"My management team is very aware that everything needs to be documented leading up to a fight," Jones said. "I just know in my heart I would never take anything that would enhance me in any way, so I didn't feel the need to jot down anything. I didn't really think this could ever happen."
I'm sure Jones understands the magnitude of this fight, and of the event. And all the BS in his life in the past few years. For him to even be sloppy and unknowingly take a PED is pretty stupid in and of itself.

Without knowing any more than that, it's pretty silly to sit here and say let's hope the B sample is clean because USADA are jerks. That's some extreme fanboyism right there.

I was speaking because I thought it was WADA, not USADA, who are fucking incompetent.

The fact they won't tell us what he tested positive for speaks for what it is. To me that means whatever it is isn't something typically found under the "tainted" supplement excuse.

Two weeks notification after a positive test actually sounds fairly fast compared to some others:

"On Feb. 3, 2015, the UFC organization was notified by the NSAC that Anderson Silva tested positive for drostanolone metabolites on his Jan. 9 out of competition drug test,"

No, it means the B Sample has not been tested yet.

yeah... figured they would have announced this AFTER the fight if this was his first test.

Anderson silva failed a test then tested him again 2 weeks b4 his fight and he passed.

wonder how many tests jon got for this fight?

They said Jon was tested 8 times this competition cycle and only failed on one.

Why did a test from June 16 take so long to come back? It feels like something of this magnitude should result in the return of quicker test results. The truth is that a three week turnaround is actually considered a quick turnaround time. Standard non-expedited tests take several weeks longer to complete.

USADA was notified by the Salt Lake City lab that analyzed the sample yesterday. That notification started a process where Jones and the UFC were told about the potential failure, so any notion that either USADA or the UFC knew about the results earlier in the week and held them are false.

The Salt Lake City lab works with sample identification numbers only, which means they had no knowledge of which sample came back with the positive. The lab informs USADA of the identification number with the positive result, and that ID number is matched up to the name.

In other sports where USADA is utilized (such as track and field), test results are not announced until the conclusion of the appeals process. But the UFC's contract with USADA stipulates that potential violations are to be announced immediately upon reception.

So is Dana wandering around shitting bricks because there is basically no card for the 200th UFC event?

LOL, poor guy. They should have taken the 4 billion.

LOL. They already did. They wouldn't announce the sale prior to the 200 card. Rake in as much cash as they can off an epic (or was an epic) PPV, finalize sale post-200, then ride off into the sunset with a truckload of $.

DC/Jones would have been awesome, but it's still a pretty insane card:

Official fight card

Heavyweight Brock Lesnar vs. Mark Hunt
Women's Bantamweight Miesha Tate (c) vs. Amanda Nunes
Featherweight José Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar
Heavyweight Cain Velasquez vs. Travis Browne

Preliminary Card (Fox Sports 1)
Women's Bantamweight Cat Zingano vs. Julianna Peña
Welterweight Johny Hendricks vs. Kelvin Gastelum
Bantamweight T.J. Dillashaw vs. Raphael Assunção
Lightweight Sage Northcutt vs. Enrique Marín

Preliminary Card (UFC Fight Pass)
Lightweight Diego Sanchez vs. Joe Lauzon
Middleweight Gegard Mousasi vs. Thiago Santos
Lightweight Jim Miller vs. Takanori Gomi

We'll see. Fighters talk about anytime anywhere, but with only one day now, including travel, to make weigh-ins and fight the next day against a current champion that has prepared for the toughest fight of his life would be crazy. It would also likely be catch-weight and not for the title, so I don't see it happening.

Unless the belt is up for grabs, the weight limit can be relaxed. DC said he'd fight a HW up to 225lbs.

They're talking about moving Gegard Mousasi from prelims into the main event vs. DC. Not sure if the belt would be on the line or not.
