Why the hell would they FIRE Diaz for missing 2 pressers? Do you know how many press conference people in other sports miss? Do you know how many practices Allen Iverson missed "Practice....we talkin' 'bout practice.....not a game...not a game....practice".

Yes it was stupid of Diaz b/c he was already on a short leash. But the guy should not lose his ability to make money b/c of it. He already lost the title shot which is punishment enough. He'll make far less money fighting BJ now. Plus Condit has been int he UFC longer and deserved a shot at GSP too. I think it's fair for everyone and we, the fans, still get 2 awesome fights b/c of it.

Plus Diaz and BJ still draw fans b/c they are very polarizing. I bet this bout is far more anticipated by hard core fans than waiting for GSP to take down and dry hump Condit for 5 rounds.

GSP vs Condit 50-45 or 49-46 decisions GSP

BJ vs Diaz - Anything can happen, well probably nobody is getting KO'd with these 2 iron chins and fast recovery guys.

NOBODY said he would get fired (well from the ufc). Dana said he didn't trust him in the main event. Wich i fully agree.

but then why put him in the 2nd biggest fight of the night? ugh
Because they needed to salvage the card, most fighters already signed for fights at WW and thus BJ needed a fight. No one wants to see BJ vs. Fitch two.

Atleast this way the UFC makes money.

Well, part of the reason is that the UFC fighters aren't unionized like the rest of the leagues. Not much can happen to iverson other than a little bit of lost playing time.

In the UFC, one guy runs the show, do what he says or you're out.

BJ Penn is freaking awesome. I hope he gives Diaz the same treatment he gave Diego Sanchez, or starts licking blood off the gloves. Something nuts like that.

True but it doesn't mean he should run a business without ethics and a little compassion, but here's the thing with Dana (and Lorenzo Fertitta is a little more level headed which helps the fighters' case).

Here's what I've noticed about Dana

1. He is a hot head. He gets so pissed and tends to overreact about a lot of stuff when upset.

2. He is guy who is smart enough to know how to make a lot of money when he cools off. If he can make money off of someone, he will put personal issues aside. See Tito if you need an example. I wouldn't be surprised to see Barnett come over if he wins SFGP.

3. He has a big ego. He wasn't going to take $hit from Diaz...believes he put him in his place and showed him who was boss and then see #2.

I was hoping that Nick Diaz was getting cut, but now he's co-main against BJ?

He's a dumbass weed smoking thug. Just look at him. Or listen to him. Could you imagine that guy UFC champ? When he skips out on shit or acts like an idiot (i.e. normal self) in SF, it wasn't a big deal cause Coker is kind of a pussy. But that shit wouldn't fly in the UFC at all.

Against BJ I see it being fairly competitive. I think though BJ could beat him with grappling and having Diaz on his back while avoiding avoid submissions. Striking against him could be risky but I suppose we'll see some of that.

The thing with GSP vs Carlos Conduit, is that GSP won't snap off an arm with an armbar cause Carlos has wire in his arm, not bone.

Haha I just seen this on Sherdog. I was going to make fun of you, but by saying I seen it on Sherdog I'm admitting to being on their forums. I'm only a member on MMAjunkie forums but it gets a lot less traffic than Sherdog so I was browsing over there.

UFC 137 is pretty stacked and UFC 136 is even better if you ask me. However it seems like the UFC put so much in them, then of course the Nov 12 Fox event, that some of the other cards around there are a bit weak.

UFC 138, which I realize is going to be on Spike via tape delay, is pretty damn weak. Kind of like UFC 122 I guess. edit: Actually it seems terrible.

UFC 139, while not finalized, could use at least one big name fight. Story-Kampmann is great (Hitman FTW), Faber-Bowles could be #1 contender bout, but Bonnar is probably the biggest star.

The two upcoming non-numbered events are decent enough and comparable to other Versus/Fight Night events.

Last is UFC 135 which seems pretty weak to me too. And with the UFC on Fox event sure you get that sweet HW title fight but there's not even any broadcast plans yet for the rest of the fights. I can't imagine the UFC in 2011 having a #1 LW contender match (Guida vs Henderson) on Facebook.

I'm not complaining just something I've noticed. Often though it's a Fight Night/Versus card that ends up just having some killer fights. Or like UFC 133 wasn't a huge card but was excellent.
