Why all of a sudden is Belfort the chosen one? I mean he's got some skill but why all the hype about him and Silva? He's got a punchers chance but beyond that I'm just not seeing him being a legit threat.

Are you kidding?

This guy is a former tournament winner, LHW champ, veteran with probably *THE BEST BOXING AND STRIKING IN MMA* against ONE OF the top P4P guys in MMA.

People hate Anderson Silva because he's a fucking metal weirdo, all these people are going to side with Vitor. Vitor is respectful while Anderson comes off as a fucking asshole in every interview, don't you notice the tension going on between these two? They were destined to meet... they were supposed to fight last year in January, then UFC 112, but they are *finally* 100% and going to meet TONIGHT...

We get to see who's the better striker, since Ando has not fought any strikers yet... will Anderson be faster? Will Vitor embarass Anderson? Can Anderson's chin stand Vitor's punches? Is Vitor there mentally? Can be become the MW champ and reorganize this entire MW division?

All these questions will be answered tonight...

I would say on paper this is the best UFC there has ever been. UFC 100 is nothing compared to this and it's not because it's happening right now, UFC 100 has always been overrated.

I guess all the years of him getting beat by all the top guys and never living up to his potential makes me a little skeptical that he's gonna turn it around in his mid thirties.

Whoever Anderson is facing is the next coming, that's just how it has been since he decided to annoy fans with his antics. Personally I'm favoring him, I think he's going to be the best Anderson we've ever seen. If Vitor can't overpower him he'll probably get outstruck. BTW Vitor nor Anderson have the best striking in MMA, that is Overeem, hell Arlovski has better hands than Vitor or Anderson imo.

That's why I said one of; Overeem is definitely top 5 since he's the GP champ and I was going to mention him but I forgot when I was writing it...

LHW champ... pfftt.. big deal.

Silva embarassed Forrest, who was also a LHW champ

Silva's full of shit is what he is. He wins a fight and his trainer is always in there to translate. But every time I a PPV prior to the one he's in and Goldie or Rogan is interviewing him over the TV, his English is pretty damn good. It's broken but he speaks fine without his translator.

That's exactly what Sonnen was saying before their fight. Yeah, he talked a lot of "trash" and most of it wasn't true, but he hit the nail on the head with that one. Silva has "selective" English and he uses it to manipulate the media. Add to that the whole flack of Sorres not correctly translating what he was saying, and there's reason to skeptical of him.

Here's my take on Silva/Vitor: calling Vitor the "fastest hands in the UFC" or "THE BEST BOXING AND STRIKING IN MMA" is just buying into the UFC sponsored hype machine which a certain fanboy in this thread supposedly hates. He was fast 13 years ago when he'd dong-and-dash and was on the juice. He doesn't do that anymore. His only significant victory in the past 4 years is Franklin (and he's in the twilight of his career). I loved watching The Phenom finish a fight in the first minute back in the day, but that won't work for him now.

Silva always starts slow, so Belfort has a shot to take him out then. If it ends in the 1st I'd give it to Vitor. After that, I have to say Silva.

Franklin/Griffin: Looking forward to this one, too. Griffin has the size and power on his side, but I have to give it to Franklin. His striking is just more "crisp". The real bet is what is Rich Franklin going to get broken in this fight? Nose, hand, foot, arm, spleen maybe?

Bader/Jones: Talk about hype! I mentioned earlier that Vegas had Bader as a 3:1 underdog. If I was a betting man, I'd put some $$$ on that! I think Jones is hyped up way too much and the odds reflect that. I like Jones, I just don't like how he's the greatest thing since sliced bread because that's what he's billed as. I think the way he handled his DQ to Hamill was class act and showed maturity, but he has a lot to prove until he's a top contender. Jones obviously has the reach, but I think Bader has the one punch "lights out" power and slight wrestling advantage. I'll say Bader takes him down for a lay-and-pray decision. I'll take Bader in this one, just because I can triple my money!

It may be good betting odds, but Jon Jones tossed Hamill around at will. I mean who the hell THROWS Matt Hamill? No one. But Jon Jones did it so hard that he dislocated Hamill's shoulder.

he dominated hamill (i am a huge matt hamill fan) and if not for the illegal blow he would have won.

i think jones takes it in the 2nd round.

the franklin/griffion fight meh no big deal.

Silvia should win. other then that i really don't care about this ppv..(though got it)

True, but without pitting Hamill vs. Bader in a strict wrestling match, it's hard to say who's the better wrestler. Barring that, you look at their pedigree. ASU (D I) > RIT (D III)

Bader wrestled with Cain. Does that make him better than Hamill? No, but it couldn't hurt! 😉

But, that's the beauty of MMA...anything can happen!

Going with guys:

Silva
Bader
Franklin

Also looking forward to Donald Cerrone vs. Paul Kelly. No quit in either one of these guys. Should be a great fight. Like 5 WEC guys going tonite. Will be interesting to see how they stack up...

it should be a hell of a match. Jones is a freak though. he was throwing matt around. Matt is no slouch at wrestling either Though bader can suprise Jones with big hit

i'm more interested in this fight then the rest of the card.

To play devils advocate, Sonnen was on testosterone and Silva had a broken rib.

the broken rib excuse is bullshit. sure he had it but he still went out and fought and got dominated.

sure the Testosterone hurts wich its good he lost anyway.

but he exposed silvia. its a matter of time (though i don't think belfort is the one to do it)

i dislike silvia but the guy is amazing.

Hamill has rather exceptional takedown defense. I believe on TUF they had him defending take downs with hands behind his back and shit. Even on Tito if I remember correctly.

AGAIN, the content won't play for me (on Facebook).

"Failed to load. It may not be available yet"

But going by the FB chat, people are watching it...

Oh well. Anyway I could tell by the FB chat that Kid was getting worked. I kind of thought that could happen, at least compared to his hype. Man for a relative unknown I heard so much fucking talk about this "Kid Yamamoto" on the forums I was sick of him. I bet most of the people hadn't even seen him before they just repeat the same crap they read on the forums. Now I'm sure it'll all be "Kid always sucked anyway".

Wish I could have seen the fight though. I'm sure he'll be back.

I seen Gabe Ruediger lost in an earlier prelim. I'm thinking he'll be cut.
