I think the key point you're missing is "I know" referring to people I hang out with or talk on a daily basis. Most of sherdog I don't know.
 
When UFC 126 gets close someone make sure they start a thread about it and only use a single line of nonsense.

he made a valid prediction that quite a few people were agreeing with. even after the carwin fight i don't think anyone expected brock to fold quite so quickly after being punched a few times. hell i made the statement that cain was going to finish what carwin started, but i really thought brock might smother him with his size advantage.

i kind of want to see mir vs lesnar again, now that the world knows brock can't stand being punched in the face.
 
Why is Vitor ranked #2 MW again? Who has he beaten at 185 in the UFC to get a title shot? Hell he hasn't even had a fight at 185 in the UFC. Sure I was there when he fucked up Martin and watched live as he made Matt Lindland a distant memory, but there are quite a few people in the 185 division in the UFC that have fucked up Martin or could have beaten Matt Lindland that night. Not a Vitor hater, actually quite a fan. I'm just upset he's getting a title shot for not really doing anything in the UFC 185 division.
 
Woosta, I don't disagree he blasted Rich something ferocious. I'm just saying he hasn't really done anything in the UFC 185 division to justify his title shot when there are guys who have been trying to climb that ladder for awhile.

Yes, that is true. But you have to remember this isn't a sports league, the UFC doesn't always put on fights between the best. They put on fights based on what SELLS ( Kimbo, Brock Lesnar, James Toney ).

Anderson Silva vs Vitor is a HUGE, BLOCKBUSTER fight. One of the best strikers and probably the FASTEST mma striker against the undefeated middleweight champion. That is a HUGE, HUGE $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ fight.

That's what counts at the end for Zuffa.

And personally, I'd rather see Vitor vs Anderson rather than Anderson vs anyone else in 185, even if they are more qualified / have beaten more 185 guys. It's just a near Shogun/Machida-esque level of epicness. JDS/Cain is also on that level of epicness. Vitor may be the ONLY 185 guy that can embarass the shit out of Anderson Silva striking wise. He must be there mentally, though.

Hm, I seem to have forgotten that Hector Lombard is out there as well. Hector Lombard vs Anderson Silva would be a monster fight as well.
