DISCUSSION

- Will Machida be able to overcome his loss from Shogun? And Rampage from Rashad?
- Who will have the better striking? Machida's sumo/wrestling vs Rampage's wrestling?
- Will BJ rebound from his Edgar loss?
- How is Matt Hughes going to do?
- Will George win and get a LW title shot?

Rampage is probably my favorite fighter, however I don't see any ways for him to win this. He looked unbelievably rusty vs. Evans (when he had him hurt he didn't go in for the kill).

I honestly don't care about the BJ/Hughes because neither are in a title hunt, BJ doesn't belong in that weight class anyways. I see this going to Hughes.

The Sotiropoulos fight is probably the most interesting because he's been on a tear due to his ground game, but I am honestly not familar with his opponent.

Rampage has great natural skills, solid granite chin. I just don't think he has the work ethic and training partners+gym to mold him into the fighter he can be.

I really hope Machida wins though, it would suck losing twice and especially after getting dethroned by Shogun.

Kind of funny, because I hated Machida's guts and now I'm rooting for him vs Rampage. I love Shogun to death, hated Machida during 104-113.

I can't believe I didn't notice the Phil Davis fight. This guy could really be in the top 5 in a year or two, maybe even the champion. It's nice that he's not getting the top 10 guys but guys underneath, so he works his way slowly up there.

Lauzon is also a ground specialist. Should be a great fight.

Nice card, however, I am patiently waiting for UFC126 with Jon Bones Jones against Ryan Bader. Jones is going to rip him a new one.

Bones is good everywhere, and just getting better, it is scary. He has unbelievable reach, his take downs, trips, sweeps, throws, his top game.... he is coming along fast.

Machida should win, provided he does not get too aggressive. He should use knees to break QJ down. Stick and move, use his speed, and QJ should fade as the fight goes on.

Yep. Best card on paper that I've seen thus far in 2011.

UFC 122 interests me more because there's a lot of MW action, a division that is often overlooked because of Anderson Silva. The only thing I like about this card is I see some potential to make money off Simpson beating Munoz. There should be some entertaining fights on both.

We are getting close now. I will be rooting for the farm boy to beat the rich kid. And for Lyoto to conduct a clinic on hitting without getting hit back. It is the only style he can win with, IMO. Any other game plan and QJ will likely get to play sand man.

I see it if anyone is getting caught its Lyoto, otherwise I really just seeing it going all 3 rounds with Lyoto winning a decision.

You'll be able to tell who will win the Hughs/Penn fight by Penn's pre-fight cage presence. Does he looked pissed, does he rush Matt, or is he a zombie like his last 2 fights? If he's the zombie 100% chance he loses. If he comes out looking like he did vs. Diego 100% chance he wins.

I watched it tomorrow, it was pretty good overall but nothing spectacular.

Hughes wins via submission in the second.
Machida wins by decision.

I don't buy the whole motivated/unmotivated BJ thing. I think what happens is that when hes winning it brings out that killer instinct. But when the fight isn't going his way he mentally folds after a round or two. If you watch the second GSP fight and the first Edgar fight and just look at BJs face as the fight progresses you can see him giving up.

BJ isn't hungry anymore, he hasn't been pushing or showing aggression like he used to, and Hughes definitely wants this win badly. I gotta go with Hughes for that fight.

I really like Rampage and I think he's a far more sophisticated fighter than he gets advertised as, but I still don't see Machida losing this - Rampage seems to have the most trouble with guys who work angles to win exchanges instead of landing power hits. That said, I hope I'm wrong.
