say I had the option to go to UCF or UF. I want to be an aerospace engineer, so I would study aerospace engineering (duh). both colleges offer the two of those courses

where would you go to.

if you never heard of the colleges or something such like that, please keep your comments to yourself please 🙂

I don't know much about the academics of either college, but UCF is smack in the middle of Orlando. So many food places and stuff within walking distance.

forgot to mention UF has higher requirements and deny people like crazy.

answers to apps went out today. a friend of mine with a 1340 on his SAT and a 4.0, did sports and lots of community service, got denied.

UCF would probably take that person, I believe they look for 1100 and 3.0.

now while I did say my friend with the 4.0 did get denied, someone with a lesser gpa, I forget the number exactly, got in

Does that 1340 include the writing section? I would assume (and hope) not, but...

I'm currently at UCF and although I got accepted to UF/FSU/USF, I choose UCF simply because I thought that the location would be an advantage in job hunting. And as it turns out, just when I'm about to graduate, the entire job market implodes so my plan backfired on me.

IMO you should go to UF. I think the slightly better name will help you out a bit when you look for your first job. The only downside is that Gainesville is a bit more boring than Orlando although Orlando isn't all its cracked up to be. On the other hand, UCF is closer to Cape Canaveral and Lockheed Martin recruits here quite heavily. But if I were to do this over again, I would go out of state as I did have the academics. Yes its more expensive but I think it would've been worth it and I'm entirely regretting my college decision.

As far as admissions are concerned, I've heard that all Florida schools have become significantly harder to get into starting last year. Its due to the Florida's huge housing crash and the schools are no longer being funded like they were 5 years ago.
