UEFI and GPU?

PNY reference 780 boots up and flashes some text about its bios and name before seeing motherboard bios splash screen. Never seen this before with a GPU.

Is this some kind of UEFI thing or what?

Its just the VGA BIOS showing. It got nothing to do with UEFI. It was quite normal in the old days. Today its rather strange.

I remember my Geforce 3 was doing that in 2001.

I remember I could edit the BIOS and could edit that message and I wrote some profanity in the boot message. (Yes I was 16 years old back then)

haha - good stuff Karlitos.

So anyone else experience this on GTX 700 series cards? a PNY thing perhaps? Never had a PNY before but I typically buy reference cards for multi-gpu and they were the cheapest.

Just an FYI on this, I added a second PNY reference 780 this week and ever since I did, this VGA bios text no longer appears at boot - just the normal motherboard boot.....
