UD Issue

Hey guys

Since I've started UD when I come back to my computer after being gone for a few hours it is froze up at the UD screen saver. I'm not sure if its this but I need to restart to get it working as cntl alt del doesn't do anything. And I do not like to just shut down the system.

If I turn off the screen saver(ud) will it hurt my production?

Also I do not think I am having any heat issues.

thanks!

Yeah, turn your screensaver off or to blank screen or something to increase your UD production.

If you're getting random crashes at 100% cpu, you may have an overheating problem (by the time you get into the bios to check, you've likely gone down a significant number of degrees)... download motheboard monitor ( mbm.livewiredev.com ) and set it up for your board to get a thermal readout while you're in Windows. Other culprits could be your power supply (processors take up a lot more power at 100% load), or your memory. I don't have any good ways to test a power supply off hand, but download memtest86 ( www.memtest86.com ) to test your ram. It takes a good few hours to make sure it checks out. There's a good program called cpuburn ( http://users.ev1.net/~redelm/ ) to get the maximum thermal output out of your processor, too, if you want to really make sure.

Of course, your windows install could be pooched, too...
