Recently I've been getting the error message when starting certain programs; League of Legends and Media Player Classic HC in particular. I've no idea how or where this came from.
The only recent changes I've made to the computer were: uninstalling Office 2010 + 2013, and installing Office 2016. I also disabled a few services through msconfig, but this doesn't seem to be an issue. I've re-enabled them in an attempt to fix this problem, but to no avail.
I googled around and I found a solution to download and install vs_redist from Microsoft. I downloaded the appropriate one for my operating system, ran it and it gave me an error message 0x80240017 - unspecified error.
Can anyone please help? It's driving me nuts
