Ubuntu problems

OK, so I know nothing about Ubuntu, but installed it with a dual=boot with XP. Then I put the hard drive in another box (PCI IDE controller) and Ubuntu gives me error 5. Then I go to do a repair install of XP, and all goes fine until the first re-boot, and I get back the the error 5. I just want to remove Ubuntu from this box, but I don't want to hose my XP install.

Ideas ?

Have you tried a fixmbr from your XP CD? That should get the XP bootloader back, then you can format the Ubuntu partition.

I just found that on google ! But thanks for the reply... Now it won;t boot from the CD, unless its the only device... So I did that..
