So I loaded up the ubuntu 8.10 installer and installed with wubi...installation went smooth and when i rebooted there were 2 ubuntu selections. 1 works. the other brings up some error messages. Is there a way to remove the one that doesnt work? if i have to clear off the one that does work thats fine i can try to reinstall. i have major ocd on stuff like that.

edit: after reading my own post...would i have to run windows system recovery?

google "edit grub" and it'll give you directions on how to edit grub and change loading options.

The only time I've ever had the two Ubuntu options is when the kernel updated. I guess it doesn't update the Grub file on its own, so you'll have to do what gcy said.

Are the extra options part of NTLDR or GRUB? I wouldn't think that WUBI would install GRUB but I've never done it myself.

It never fails to amaze me how little ppl know about Linux!
