Ubuntu 7.04

I already downloaded the beta, heard 5 or something and it's been rock solid for me so far. Compiz has improved greatly over the last version I used and the whole OS feels much tighter. I'd definitely recommend any Edgy users upgrade tomorrow.

People are going crazy on the forum over there. They expected the release to come out at 12:00:01AM GST 0.
To be honest, I secretely hoped so. Anyway tomorrow I'll be running Feisty!

I've been running the beta for I think 2 weeks now and I must admit I'm nothing short of impressed. I'll certainly be doing a full upgrade tomorrow.

Any tips on best way to install this? Currently have VISTA installed on the laptop, have 2 NTFS partitions.

Are you wanting to get rid of one of the NTFS partitions? Or just resize them? Easiest way is to download the "desktop" iso, burn to cd and boot to it, double-click the Install icon and then answer the questions.

Cool thing is, it installs from a LiveCD environment, so if you have questions while installing, you can actually post to the forums with the computer you are installing on.

I think I will need to resize a partition for it, since both partitions I have now are ntfs.

You should be able to do that just fine from within the installer. I haven't tried Feisty (downloading now) but resizing partitions in previous versions was just stupidly simple 😀
