Uber doesnt work with VoIP #'s anymore?!

last time I used Uber was over a year ago.
tried it again this weekend.
said I have an invalid # or something like that.

it's a FreedomPop #, which is VoIP.

Does Lyft have the same problem?

I would move off FP and go with something like MintSIM. $15 a month for the 2GB plan, unlimited text/talk. I believe it just throttles after 2GB. $180 for a year of service with T-Mobile, which has really improved over the last few years.
