U Shaped Desk?

Does anyone know where I can get one cheap (around 200). I've got a $50 IKEA desk that I love but it's not big enough. I don't really need much for the desk (no drawers, no shelves, no keyboard slot). Basically it just needs to be flat and look like wood. I don't care if it's particle board with wood looking finish.

Get four more of the IKEA desks and arrange them in a U.

I thought of that. They no longer sell the desk I have. I would get 2 more and slap them on each side of the current desk if I could still find the desk.

I built a L shaped Galant desk from ikea ($260 I think). It's really nice. I am thinking of getting another Galant with the L going in the other direction to make sorta a U but that would be more then your price range.

How is the desk? If I got two of those would they hook together nicely or would it look dumb?I wouldn't mind buying one now and one later.

Hmm, i think it will too tight of a fit for just two L's making a U. The Galant series is highly configurable. You can change length's of either side of the "L" table by adding more tables. So you can make a U with two L's and a extension in the middle to make the U wider. I have a galant L table(s) setup that is 6 feet by 12 feet and i love it.

It's very sturdy too. The frame is made of steel and the table is just a slab of particle board on top. Sturdy enough for a 190 man to jump up and down on the table. Until an Ikea employee yelled at me, heh.

Wouldn't that be more of a square? 🙂

Do the pieces connect? Would it be possible to connect the two L's to an extension in the middle? If so that would be perfect.

They connect through frame extenxions. But there will still be three tables as supposed to a single u shaped table if that's what you're getting at.

Go to ikea's site and look up galant. It has all the info and how to config for you.
