U.S. Welcomes Terrorists (as long as they're not Muslim)

WASHINGTON ? An accused mass-murdering terrorist has sneaked into the U.S. illegally and is skulking around at large. He is suspected of blowing up a civilian airliner in flight, directing a string of hotel bombings and plotting to kill a head of state. He?s already escaped from prison once.

You?d expect the Bush administration to ramp up to Threat Level Red, set the whole Homeland Security Department?s hair on fire, rush Dick Cheney back to his lonely bunker, scour the countryside until the bad guy is found and then advise the warden at Guantanamo to expect a new guest.

....

Full article

Of course there's no surprise here, our administration has been know for a long time to sellectively support terrorists as long as we agree with their goals. We created Al Quaida, and have been supporting Cuban terrorists for many years.

Why would I expect ANY of that? The bastard does NOTHING to stop the MILLIONS of illegal Mexicans and other South Americans from coming across our borders every single year, why would I expect him to do anything about this ONE guy?

Bush's domestic security policy will lead to a terrorist attack on US soil just as surely as Bill Clinton's foreign policy lead to 9/11. Watch and see.

This is really a pretty misleading editorial in regards to jacking up the threat level.

1. The guy is seventy-seven years old.
2. He's been shot up a couple of times.
3. He allegedly masterminded the bombing of that jetliner, and they didn't even bother to reach a verdict in absentia.
4. He was "one of ours" and has little reason to harm the U.S. And no, Saddam and OBL weren't "one of ours" in nearly the same way.

The editorial also claims that tightening restrictions on Cuba enables Castro to throw dissidents in jail? That's a load. How about a tiny bit of self-responsibility for a change, or is Kim Il-Jung right - everything is America's fault?

The editorial is perhaps correct on its moral perspective. Terror is terror, whether it's against democratic government or dictators. If he's guilty of that jetliner bombing, he's a terrorist. However, if all he's done is the other stuff - gunning for Castro - it's a bit more complicated. Does the U.S. have any laws on its books to encourage the support of anti-Castro elements in Cuba like the one Clinton put into effect for Iraq back in '98?

notice they didn't want to fry the abortion clinic bomber, but they love frying everyone else...

He plead guilty, because of the plea agreement. When you do that you agree to plead guilty and the DA agrees to seek a lesser sentence. That is why they did not fry him.

OBL allegedly masterminded the bombing of the World Trade Center... That didn't prevent us from invading a sovereign country and killing many thousands in the process. But it would be a great gift to Castro if this guy announces himself in the US. Imagine the countless references to the US as a supporter of terrorism in all international forums Castro can send his diplomats to.

Nothing new he's been doing that for the past 40+ years.

I knew someone would trot out this example. Bin Laden acknowledged a role in the bombings in a video sometime later on. Not to mention all those intel reports that the 9/11 Commission came up with about the threat that turned out to be accurate.

As I said: Morally, allowing him to stay in the U.S. is a non-starter.

I recall reading an article about this guy. He has been tried and acquitted several times.

You should research Otto Reich, the CANF and the undue influence exerted on Venezuelan judges. Orlando Bosch somehow escaped Venezuelan jail disguised as a nun. Posada fled the country when he was informed that he was going to prosecuted again.

Luis Posada Carriles, the brothers Novo and others were going to blow up an entire building at the University of Panama complete with students and faculty to attempt to kill Castro. The Panamanian judicial system then came under attack to benefit the collaborators.

1. Osama has discussed ON TAPE being responsible for 9/11. That's a FACT.
2. Iraq was NOT a "Sovereign nation". Iraq was a dictatorship, the President decided its' sovereignty was not valid or recognizable to the United States, and he is the ONLY person with the LEGAL AUTHORITY to make that judgment call. Also a FACT.

Bah - take your facts and rational, logical arguments and get out of here -- we're trying to bash the administration with unfounded emotional appeals and wild accusations. :|

OF coursess would he been offered the plea if he bomb a few churches instead of abortion clinics. I'm willing to bet they would have fryed him.

it's ironic that most illegal immigrants granted asylum are from our "enemy" countries. what's to prevent our enemies from sending in people into our country to be sleepers to file for asylum and then plan attacks?
