Real countries with a clue in this day and age don't bitch and moan over a chunk of useless land like a bunch of school children.

...like a remote mountain-side in Nevada, perhaps? Canada-US? Think more like Mexico-US if the Mexican immigrants were not coming over in search of work but to take back Texas....or New Mexico.....or California..... :disgust:

Also if this happens it will affect us and many countries. The radioactive fallout will travel a long way. We and most will not get a lot, but I rather have none. But I live on the east coast so I doubt much of anything will get us, but the west coast and Haw. might get some.

We also have companies in both places so this will not only hurt them but us also. Where do you think a lot of progaming takes place. Bush has done nothing to help the economy, and we don't need any more problems, we are being pulled pretty thin right now.
So its best for EVERYBODY that this does not happen.

But they aren't... I can't think of a major ongoing conflict between two first rate industrial nations.

Actually, most of these experts are saying the fallout would be contained pretty much in South Asia.

Okay, but that would still affect the rest of the world

Read here:
South Asia is important to world energy markets because it contains 1.3 billion people -- more than one-fifth of the world?s population -- and is experiencing rapid energy demand growth.

Obviously it would suck for more than just the economy but if this happens nobody can claim they didn't see it coming. I don't give a sh*t who rightfully should have kashmir. Any nation willing to get into a nuclear conflict over a bunch of mountains needs a wake up call.

The only problem with that is, they aren't going to tell us when the launch. So if the air currents are moving this way fast, then we might get a little. But my point is, I rather have NONE. But if the winds were low, then yes most would saty around there. But then someone might attack India if they get alot of fallout. Then russia, britan, or even the US might get pulled in. VERY BAD!!!!

i.e. WW3 :(

What does that have to do with radioactive fallout hurting people in the US, which was the point I was responding to? It's obvious it would have an effect on the rest of the world in other ways, but I was talking about the radioactivity.

But I wasn't responding to your post now was I? The post I was responding to said the following:

I don't doubt the fact that it will have an impact on the world, but not because of massive nuclear fallout like some people are worried about. I'd rather not find out either way. What I want to know is, has anyone asked the Kashmiri people what they want?

Who and why would someone attack India if there was fallout? Are they going to attack them with nukes so there is more fallout? Are they going to do air strikes on a country that's already been nuked. Are they going to send their own troops into a country that's been nuked? Your other comment about the programmers and Bush not doing anything for the economy is almost as stupid as this one. Think before you post.

For the rest of you hand wringers. The current posturing being done by India and Pakistan is called sabre rattling. Nothing more is going to happen besides the current border skirmishes. Rumsfield and others are going over and this will be all quieted down by the middle of next week. Nobody is going to launch any nuclear weapons. Relax.
